History
Dr C.G. English School is a Co-Ed School affiliated to Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, providing quality education to the children of our community for the past 63 years. Dr. C.G. School made a humble beginning as a branch of M.G. School in Sardar Nagar in some tenements. In 1959, the branch was later upgraded to an independent school in the name of Dr Choithram Gidwani, the roaring lion of the Sindhi community and the first president of Nav Bharat Vidya Mandal. Started as a Sindhi Medium, the school started the English Medium branch in 2000. In the year 2018 Sindhi Medium school closed its functioning and the English Medium School today continues as a beacon of excellence in education.
After Independence, Sindhis migrated from Sindh and strived for their basic facilities and needs. In these difficult times great personalities like Dr. Choitram Gidwani, Dada Jivanlal Jairamdas and others came forward and worked hard and successfully established the first Sindhi School in Kubernagar as M.G. School. In Sardar Nagar, it became a separate entity under the same management in 1959 known as Dr. Choithram Gidwani High School. Our School owes its inspiration to the great sons of Sindh, the inspired educationists and social reformers. Character building was the main mission of their life. Although primarily established for the Sindhi community our school doesn't believe in any sort of sectarianism and is always open to students from all sects and religions.
